President's Message

Kinotech Solar Energy Corporation was established in April 2002 by Dr. Yoshihiro Kino under his prospectus of incorporation that the company would provide the state of the art technology and products helpful for frontier research and development.

Since 2005, the company had been, among other things, concentrating on the development of the Zinc Reduction Process (Du Pont Process )technology to produce Polysilicon used as a raw materials for Crystal Silicon Solar Battery and in Jan. of 2008, concluded joint development agreement with a certain chemical company in Japan . However , because of uncertain feasibility of the Polysilicon project in respect of economical competitiveness to the conventional process , the company have decided to suspend the project and now have been seeking new business fields making use of our Electrolysis Process. Now, the company are looking for the partners having an interests to develop Electrolysis Process applicable for Rare Earth , Titanium and Other Metals Refineries .

Our Electrolysis Process is one process of Zinc Reduction Process

Zinc Reduction Process was developed by Du Pont in 1951 and also developed byBattelle Columbus Laboratories in USA as the project of the Department of Energy (DOE) for 1970-1980. Our Electrolysis Process is one process of Zinc Reduction Process composed of 3 Process.

As stated on above , Metal Silicon as raw material are reacted with Chlorine at Chlorination Process and SiCl4 will be produced . And, SiCl4 is reducted by Zinc(Zn) and Final Product (Polysilicon) are produced . ZnCl2 is separated to Zn and Cl2 at Zinc Chloride Electrolysis Process. Key point of the technology is how efficiently ZnCl2 will be separated because the volume of ZnCl2 is 10 times as Polysilicon in quantity. Summarizing the process, it is CLOSED PROCESS without producing by-products and just by adding Metal Silicon as raw materials and the minimum quantity of Chlorine and Zinc lost during processing .
